Many designers and illustrators ask about the difference between both of these software’s, which is very hard to talk about. First of all let’s look some universal truths

  • Neither one emerges as the absolute market winner
  • Use is depends on your requirements, features, nature of art work, required look and feel
  • It is very hard to change “Brand Loyalty”
  • It looks always easy “the first thing” you learn, (as, I learn CorelDraw first, so always feel at home with CorelDraw)

Now let’s have some comparison. So you can decide according to your mental filters and required parameters.

Adobe’s CS5 suite targets the business graphics market

Adobe offers four kinds of editions of its graphic suite, each one offering graphic solutions for a specific industry:

  • Design Premium: for print, mobile, and interactive workflow
  • Production Premium: for video production
  • Web Premium: for website design
  • Master Collection: contains all of the tools found in the other three editions

Corel X5 suite accommodates to the professional market as well, but it also offers tutorials, tips, and templates for amateurs. Its latest suite also includes more file formats and better color control than previous versions.

Many garments designers prefer CorelDraw to Adobe, but Adobe Photoshop has trounced Corel’s Photo-Paint in the raster graphics category (more due to its ongoing popularity than the actual features).

CorelDraw also has a loyal following from when it dominated the vector-graphics market, even though Adobe currently has cornered a bigger share of the market.

For the non-professional, both Adobe and Corel offer pared down versions of their biggest products for amateur photo editors: Corel PaintShop Photo Professional and Adobe Photoshop elements.

  14. What I want to know is why I should care? I mean, not to say that what youve got to say isnt important, but I mean, its so generic. Everyones talking about this man. Give us something more, something that we can get behind so we can feel as passionately about it as you do.

  15. The only place you’ll find success before work is in the dictionary

  16. I was wondering if you ever considered changing the layout of your blog? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having one or two images. Maybe you could space it out better?

  17. You got numerous positive points there. I made a search on the issue and found nearly all peoples will agree with your blog.

  19. There are certainly a lot of details like that to take into consideration. That is a great point to bring up. I offer the thoughts above as general inspiration but clearly there are questions like the one you bring up where the most important thing will be working in honest good faith. I don?t know if best practices have emerged around things like that, but I am sure that your job is clearly identified as a fair game.

  20. Dear admin, thanks for providing this blog post. I found it great. Take care,

  21. You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be really something which I think I would never understand. It seems too complicated and very broad for me. I am looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!

  22. Gd article…me a photoshop and corel deziner..i feel so easy to using corel draw then illustrator..corel draw let’s u freedom of work with much shourtcuts and easy commands and creativity.. i think corel and illustrator are both increadible vector softwares..

  23. Nice article, though. I thought I was going to be able to use Adobe illustrator but each time I set my eyes on the interface, I see more reasons not to use it. i am not too okay with object selection nodes, makes my outline almost unrealistic and obstructed. CorelDraw has a friendly interface with limited tools hidden under drop-downs which makes it easier for me to see a much open space. (Like drawing on a piece of white paper) Illustrator is seen as industry standard but when it come to creating pure vectors, I think CorelDraw has it. You can still convert your corelDraw file to PDF if required.
